Formalised procurement processes can be delivered through a range of request types from Quotes, Tenders, Expressions of Interest or Request for Proposals.  Whilst not truly a procurement process, research of the supply market can also be carried out in a structured manner and these are called Invitation to Register Interest (ITRI) or Requests for Information (RFI).

Procurement Reviews

Procurement reviews strengthen an organisation’s capability to undertake and deliver procurement activities that meet good practice standards and in the case of the Local Government sector, are compliant with the requirements of the Local Government (Functions and General) Regulations 1996.

This requires increasing the awareness of what constitutes good practice amongst procurement practitioners and ensuring that the organisation’s procurement frameworks, processes and arrangements are well structured and able to meet their needs in a dynamic and changing environment. These reviews are ideally designed for Local Governments, the Not for Profit sector, and private sector enterprises. All reviews come with recommendations based on the findings and on delivering process improvements.

Industry Information Sessions

In recent years there has been a significant emphasis by all tiers of government; Federal, State, and Local Government, for an increase in supporting local suppliers and creating local jobs.

However, a key issue remains as far as local suppliers are concerned i.e. how do local suppliers engage with government entities? Information sessions of approximately 2 hours are offered to local businesses to advise on how best to engage, in particular, with Local and State Government agencies, and respond to advertised procurement processes.  These sessions will provide tips and tricks on how to respond to advertised processes, what evaluators are looking for, and what constitutes good procurement practice.

Ethical & Accountable Procurement

With considerable independent scrutiny being applied to all tiers of government as well as other sectors such as the Not for Profit sector and the finance sector, the importance of sound procurement practices based on strong ethical standards is more relevant than ever.
P PLUS offers information sessions of 3 hours duration to groups of up to 12 people on ethical and accountable behaviour when developing and managing contracts.  It will cover a range of aspects on what constitutes good ethical behaviour including contract structure, confidentiality and conflict of interest, behaviour during the procurement phase including probity and the application of process contracts. The use of case studies will help support the delivery of this capacity building exercise.
